Tremors from a regional earthquake were felt in parts of northern and central Thailand, including Bangkok, on March 28, 2025, at 13:20 local time. The earthquake originated in Myanmar and caused mild tremors in the capital. As a precautionary measure, Bangkok was briefly declared an emergency zone that afternoon however, the status was lifted as the situation stabilized.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has since deactivated its emergency command unit, citing improved conditions. Public utilities remain fully operational, assistance efforts continue, and local district offices are prepared to address any further needs.
